Why buy a new home

The advantages of buying new build.

A new build isn’t the right answer for every buyer — but where it is, the practical advantages over an older home are significant. Worth knowing before you decide.

  • Brand-new, built to today's standards

Better insulation, tighter U-values, modern wiring and plumbing — and a 10-year build warranty as standard. The day-one cost of running a new build is usually well below an equivalent older property.

  • No upward chain

You're buying directly from the developer, with no seller above you to slow things down. Reservations to completions tend to run faster and more predictably than chain transactions.

  • Choose your finishes — when you're early enough

Early reservers can often select kitchen finishes, flooring, tiling and bathroom suites from the developer's range. The earlier you register, the more choice you have.

  • Help to Buy, shared ownership and other schemes

Where the development qualifies, we'll talk you through the affordability schemes available and connect you with a specialist new-build mortgage broker.
