History
The Nevill family were lords of the manor from 1450; their arms appear on a roof boss and on the elaborately carved oak font cover of 1533. The east window of 1878, illustrating the Te Deum, is by Burne-Jones and William Morris. In the churchyard stands a yew believed to be over 1,500 years old — hollow, still alive, and older than the first church here.
